Graphics Tablet

Yay! I got my first graphics tablet, its a Bamboo Fun by Wacom. Now I can do so many things that were usually impossible with my mouse. And I see its Chinese Niu (cow) Year already...too bad there isn't a holiday in USA. Although some people have the spirit of CNY. I do not have much things to talk about except my tablet...finally, I can draw the Sonic characters and color them with proper shades and lighting. And Shem, I can't do Knuckles now, I'm not familiar with the lines. >.> Oh yeah, I got back to play Battlefield 2142 after a year of playing Team Fortresss 2 non-stop. Lol! I had so much fun knifing unsuspecting soldiers. In total, I have like 600 dogtags, of which 400 is unique.

Just an update for those who actually look at my random blog. :D

Welcome 2009!

Its 2009 already! Wow that was quick. 2008 went by as quick as light travels. Anyways, back on track, I want to wish you all happy new year. New Years day was like an ordinary day at home except we get to stay up till 12am to count down to the next year. My dad bought this huge (really!) Acer LCD monitor at a display resolution of 1680x1050. My previous one had 1280x1024.

A few days back, my family and I went to Quantico, VA to visit the Marine Corps Base Memorial Museum. It showed us the history of US marines and the wars they had fought. Its quite interesting if you ask me. 2 days later, we went to visit the 9/11 Pentagon Memorial thats right outside the Pentagon.

Yesterday, I had a little inspiration about making something for the HK community. I was playing around with my Team Fortress 2 screenshots and when I started cropping a Sniper one, it hit me. I decided to create a HKC themed wallpaper. Its my first project at Photoshop but it was the best I could create. Its the one at the top of this post (Click thumbnail for link to full size).

Hello all! Its me again. It had been quite a long stretch of time when I last posted. I apologize for that because I lost interest in writing/typing. The past few months have been the usual. Eat, work, play, sleep...not much to talk about. For my web log (I prefer calling it this way), I changed the theme and did a little renovations here and there. A phishing threat caused me to create new passwords so I figured I could log some thoughts here while I'm at that.

The game I've been so eager to play has finally been released on November 18 2008. Its the zombie-slaying/survival Left 4 Dead. I had tons of fun playing the demo with friends. But the real one is better. Team Fortress 2 had an update for engineer, gives them ability to upgrade their dispensers and teleports too!

Its the holidays for me now, no school for 2 weeks and we don't have any homework or assignment :D. I restarted playing MapleStory (MapleSEA) a day ago because I got this strange urge to level up and play as a archer. Yeah, too bad nobody's doing party quests at night, looks like everyone is at a high level. :\ To SG friends reading this post, I should be visiting SG again @ summer 09. One more thing to add, Eri, one of my online buddies drew me a personal Tails avatar as I have requested (Displayed on the right). Ike, another online buddy, created a Xmas avatar for me by editing images. Thanks ya'll. Happy Holidays!

The Week That Went Wrong

I hate this week. My dad went back to Singapore on Sunday for work. After that, many bad events happened. I've been keeping all these stuff to myself for the whole week so if you're reading this, you'll know them. First of all, the night after my dad left. The bathroom at the ground floor had a leak and the water pipe connecting to the sink bursted and all the water came out. The water flowed down to the basement and my mother was all freaked out because she was afraid of flooding. Luckily, my dad's collegue came by and helped us.

Secondly, well, this one isn't so big but it sure did make me feel pitiful. At a traffic junction, two dogs, one chasing the other, dashed across the road. My mom was about to hit the gas but the dogs came rushing by. Suddenly, a big car drove pass on the right lane, and hit the small white furry dog (it didn't die but made some noises then quickly came up and ran again). The brown dog (other one stopped in time and then continue chasing the white one). That was sad...

Lastly, the biggest one. My mom had an accident earlier this morning today. It was time to get to school again, driving along the road [Tuckerman Lane], there was this pedestrian trying to cross the road and mom had to stop for him at the crossing. (theres a sign saying stop for pedestrians but it isn't obvious). She hit the brakes and stopped in less than 5 seconds, she went pass the line for stopping though. In a split-second, a big *Bang* was felt and heard from the back and our car was pushed forward. It was extremely shocking...we had a car accident. Its good that we didn't have any injuries. I had slight aches and an abrasion. I thought I wasn't going to make it in time for school but my mom got my collegue's wife to help bring me to school in her car. Theres only 3 minutes left till the first class starts. Yeah, I made it.

Getting Use To School Again

Well, its been 2 weeks since school started. I'm getting use to it again although I don't have enough sleep this week...stayed up late reading 5 chapters of the Bible EVERYDAY! It paid off...yea...I got a bad grade for the first drill, its like a pop quiz/reading check that tests you on the reading, but I slowly improved. Not so bad in History too...the hard part is that you got to speak and discuss. Some bad news, my English teacher, Ms Doane is leaving because she got another job that paid more money for her degree.

Last thing to add, Shem said the funniest and dumbest thing I heard this year...it all began in lunch, where he was doing his homework (Geometry). I helped him of course (I'm so smart...=P), there was this question, that ask, "If the measure of angle 5 + measure of angle 6, it is equal to the measure of angle ___? [ mL5 + mL6 = mL___ ] Sorry, I can't type the angle symbol so I used L (closest look-a-like symbol I can think of). I didn't even finish saying the question and he said "The answer is 11!"...LMAO! XD Man, that is hilarious. I think only my school friends would understand what I'm talking about. I just want to record this moment here.

School Starts Again!

Start of 10th grade last week. Now its the 3 day weekend, so I can kick back and relax. The first 2 days were introduction to the classes and get stuff sorted out. The real thing began on Wednesday, where work starts. Lots of people I knew didn't come back this year, but I see new faces though. And my old friends too...like Shem...

I so hate the Bible class, we got to read 5 chapters of the Old Testament in the NIV Bible every single school day! And we get quized on the next day and it ain't easy. World History class, thats like a military camp, and its my first class of the day too! Then I have Physics, one of the classes that are less tense. English and Spanish, the usual boring ones. Geometry, Mr Peer's class is always entertaining to matter what, and I'm actually focusing and learning in his class! Lastly, its Computer Applications, last class of the day, to chill and do a little work.

Thats about the last week or so. Finally, "A Celebration of Young Poets" book has arrived in the mail. My poem's in there!

When I go on an airplane,
The thought of flying
Makes me go insane.
Greetings from the flight captain
As I stepped into the cabin.
Sitting down at my comfy seat.
Reaching into my pocket to get some mint.
Just as the plane goes airborne,
I look out through the windows at the endless blue sky,
While feeling a little bit light-headed.
Oh, how I wish I did not fly.
Night falls,
And the sky looks as dark as space.
Allowing the reading light to shine onto my book,
And still sitting in my usual place.
Finally, it’s time for landing.
I smile when the plane touches down.
I’m glad that it’s over
And so I’m getting out without a frown.

Niagara Falls

Hey'all. I'm finally back from Niagara Falls, ON. Crap, I don't know where to begin...I know its I came back in less than a week because we did every dang major attraction in there. Its sort of 4 days but if you wanna include the car ride's time, it would be like 6 days.

I forgot all about the trip since I wrote this post 1 week after I came back (Plan to post some photos). Found this cool new online FPS game called Battlefield Heroes. I'm waiting for them to launch so I can play. You don't have to pay a cent because its free to play.

Had a fun time on Friday night at my TF2 clan practice. Read and did all 4 book reports due after summer for school. Arg, I don't know what I wanna write...since I don't have the mood to do it. I just finish playing on another TF2 event, I'm sure you don't wana know it because even if I tell you guys, you wouldn't understand.

Never mind then.
